Rider in the Loop Dynamic Motorcycle Simulator: An Instrumentation Strategy Focused on Human Acceptability

چکیده
Human-in-the-loop driving simulation aims to create the illusion of by stimulating driver’s sensory systems in as realistic conditions possible. However, simulators can only produce a subset stimuli that would be available real situation, depending on degree refinement their design. This must carefully chosen because it is crucial for human acceptability. Our focus design physical dynamic (i.e., motion-based) motorcycle-riding simulator. For its instrumentation, we focused rider acceptability all sub-systems and simulator whole. The significance our work lies this particular approach; riding critical validity any results acquired using In article, detail hardware/software architecture under constraint; sensors, actuators, dataflows allow us (1) capture rider’s actions real-time; (2) render motorcycle’s behavior rider; (3) measure study rider/simulated motorcycle interactions. We believe methodology could adopted future designers other human-in-the-loop improve rendering (including motion) quality

Motorcycle rider training.
Motorcycle riding is an accessible and cheap form of transport for many people worldwide, particularly in low and middle income countries where other forms of private transport are not affordable. Motorcycle riders, however, account for a relatively high proportion of road traffic-related fatalities and injuries in such countries. The lack of experience of many motorcycle riders has been cited ...
متن کاملMotorcycle Rider Training and Perceptions of Skill
It has been argued that driver training can inadvertently result in novice driver overconfidence which may be counterproductive to the safety goals of training. A similar concern can be expressed in regard to novice motorcycle rider training. Overconfidence is posited to generate from trainees’ overestimation of their own skill levels following training, potentially contributing to risk taking ...
متن کاملThe Moris Motorcycle Simulator: an Overview
Many motion based simulators have been developed in the last thirty years for many different types of vehicles [1] [2]. In order to make a simulation more realistic, linear accelerations and angular rates are exerted on the pilot by moving the platform on which the mock-up vehicle is located. The purpose of this article is to present a 7 DOFs (vertical, lateral and longitudinal displacements, r...
متن کاملA Virtual Motorcycle Rider Based on Automatic Controller Design
This paper introduces a new and freely available Modelica library for the purpose of simulation, analysis and control of bicycles and motorcycles (single-track vehicles). The library is called MotorcycleLib and focuses on the modeling of virtual riders based on automatic controller design. For the single-track vehicles, several models of different complexity have been developed. To validate the...
متن کاملHelmet laws and motorcycle rider death rates.
We investigated motorcycle rider death rates between states with full motorcycle helmet laws and those without. This was done using both unadjusted bivariate analyses and multivariate random-effects generalized least squares regression models of rider death rates. Multivariate models were adjusted for the competing influences of several explanatory variables, including the existence of a motorc...
